Losing Your Hair Can Cause Extreme Embarrassment to Many People

Hair loss and its’ impact might seem like a “minor” thing. But it might not be so minor for some people. As far as it goes for some men and many women, having good-looking hair is an essential element of their self-image. This can be even more true if it happens young in life, which can occur in the 30’s or even younger.Hair loss can make people feel very embarrassed and they turn to PRP for hair loss in the Bay Area.

If you are one of those people for whom hair loss and its’ impact upon your life is depressing, or even devastating, as can be the case, then the good news is that we are today in the 21st century and there are a number of things that can be done to treat your hair loss. At Silicon Valley Hair Institute, we have a number of treatments that we can apply in order to restore your hair to its’ former glory if you are suffering from hair loss.

The first thing that you need to do is to book a consultation with our director, Dr. Miguel Canales, so that he can assess the condition of your hair and scalp and be able to advise you of your options. The consultation can be carried out either online or in our office here in Foster City, and Dr. Canales makes no charge for such an initial consultation. Once you have had this assessment carried out, you will be in a position to make an informed choice about the way in which you wish to proceed.

One answer may be a hair transplant, and this can be carried out either by Dr. Canales personally, or by the use of his ARTAS robot. Dr. Canales was in charge of the team which actually invented the ARTAS robot, and it has several advantages over and above a manual transplant.

PRP Is Another Possibility

Another possibility is PRP for thinning hair. This is best used in areas where the hair is thinning and not in totally bald areas. It is a very recent development for the regrowth of thinning hair and involves using a sample of your own blood which is spun in a centrifuge, and has the effect of separating the solid parts of the blood from the liquid. The solid parts contain three to five times the number of platelets, which are the parts of the blood which begin the process of coagulation when you cut yourself.

This is then injected into the areas of thinning hair and has been shown to help miniaturized hair follicles grow into thicker terminal hairs, thus covering up the thinning areas of hair.
