There are many benefits to the ARTAS transplant method, not the least of which is that it leaves no scar at the back of the head. However, the ARTAS robot removes the follicles to be transplanted in tiny groups of up to four hairs at a time and leaves no visible scar whatsoever.
The robot also transplants the follicles so that they exactly match the angle, direction, and height of other hairs still growing in the recipient area, so provides an absolutely natural look. Furthermore, the robot detects hairs that are still growing there and inserts the follicles beside them, thus avoiding damaging them in any way.
