Residents of Burlingame are a smart lot. Many of them are of above average wealth for that reason, but they also want to look smart.
However, no matter how well off they may be, they all have one thing in common with the rest of us. It’s called aging. Unfortunately – even if your name happens to be Jeff Bezos – you can’t stop aging. It happens to us all. And one of the things that comes with aging – not with everybody, but with a large proportion of the population – is hair loss.
Sure, some people take hair loss in their stride as “just one of those things”. But not most Burlingame residents. No, they can’t stop getting older, but they can turn the clock back so that they don’t look older by using hair restoration techniques. For that, the smart ones know that there is a place in Foster City called Silicon Valley Hair Institute. The even smarter ones know that there is something called PRP in Burlingame, even if they are not certain what it’s all about.
PRP In Burlingame Is A Fairly New Procedure
PRP in Burlingame is a fairly new procedure to deal with hair loss and is something that our Dr. Miguel Canales at Silicon Valley Hair Institute has been using successfully for many of his patients. PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma, and it needs a little explanation.
Human blood is composed of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Platelets are solid particles in the blood which begin the process of coagulation whenever a wound occurs. Now it has recently been discovered that if you can increase the number of platelets in a blood sample this can have the effect of promoting hair growth!
The way that is works is as follows. A sample of the patient’s own blood is taken and placed in a centrifuge. This has the effect of separating the solid particles in the blood from the liquid. If you then add platelet activators such as calcium chloride and thrombin to them, it increases the number of platelets in the blood by three to five times.
This is then injected into areas of thinning hair and has the effect of making the hairs grow thicker. It does take a while to begin to see results, but typically this will be between two months and six months after the first treatment.
If you are going to consider PRP in Burlingame, you need to come and see Dr Canales in Foster City. He will be able to ascertain whether you are a suitable candidate for the treatment, but if you are, he can begin it right away.
